There are things you need to know before renting a house. It may feel similar to renting an apartment, but most oftentimes, a landlord will own the home and possibly pay maintenance assessments to an association. Make sure the association allows rental homes and they are not age-restricted, allows children and/or pets, and whether or not you will be responsible for paying fees related to the association, amenities, or utilities.
